The Patriarch is the flagship red wine of Babich Winery, grown on their Gimblett Gravels Irongate vineyard in Hawke’s Bay and made in honour of the company founder and New Zealand wine industry pioneer, Josip Babich.
With this wine, they allow themselves complete flexibility to make the very best possible. Hawke's Bay cabernet sauvignon blends rarely get better than this.
A blend of merlot, malbec and cabernet sauvignon, this is darkly perfumed with layers of spice, cassis and plum with a touch of cedar. Full, round and dense with deceptive concentration. Dark chocolate, blueberry and cinnamon and a little cigar box too.
