Matawhero has been part of Gisborne’s vinous landscape since 1968, when it was established by the late Bill Irwin to supply grapes to the local winemakers.
This elegant barrel fermented chardonnay is big, rich and full with great length and weight. Only the cream of a very solid vintage in the region found its way into this profoundly good drop.
Full bodied and bursting with stone fruit flavours with a hint of toasty oak, this is a harmonious and well-balanced wine. Rich and weighty.
