Charismatic founder Tim Turvey was not to be discouraged when told the site at Te Awanga in Hawkes Bay was too cold to grow grapes. He went ahead and planted anyway, and 25 years on, we're glad he did.
Happy to plant a wide range of grape varieties, and to experiment with techniques in the winery, Clearview make wines worth hunting down.
A consistently delicious Hawke's Bay chardonnay.
This is made in seasoned oak with a portion going through buttery malolactic fermentation. The result is weighty and full textured but with freshness, florals and elegance enough to let through those nutty, mealy and spicy notes.
A great wine.
