Named after a widow (veuve in French) in the village of Vernay who helped French boffin Eugène Charmat get his bubbly business off the ground. Charmat was the bloke who invented the cuvee close (sealed vats) method of producing sparkling wine, commonly used today.
Their rosé sparkles is fresh and fruity on the nose complemented by smooth, velvety bubbles and raspberry and red fruit flavours on the palate.
A French fizz punching well above its weight for the money.
