The Wooing Tree is a local landmark that sits prominently in the middle of this family's central Otago vineyard. It has long been a place for locals to woo their lovers, and if it could talk, would have many a story to tell!
These days it is not quite the private spot it once was, but there are still plenty of visitors proposing marriage and even getting married under the beautiful iconic tree, amidst the vines.
This is a great example of one of the best central Otago pinot noirs.
Ripe hand picked fruit, gentle wine making and maturation in French oak have resulted in a complex and powerful wine, with aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries and Black Doris plums. There's a rich and silky smooth palate with fine grainy tannins to match the fruit.
Excellent value, drinking fantastically well now and will develop and cellar for several years.
